We are two sisters, Fiona and Jo, both healthcare professionals, wives and mothers. For several years we struggled with health challenges that baffled both our doctors and ourselves.
It was during this time that we decided to take personal responsibility for our well-being by focussing on the creation of a healthier lifestyle rather than the treatment of our symptoms. We discovered that better health is a real choice that you have to make for yourself before you can find solutions to your health challenges.
In 2006 we finally received a diagnosis for our symptoms; Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME) more commonly known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS).
Since our diagnosis we have learned much about ME/CFS, including how common it is for sufferers to be undiagnosed or misdiagnosed and, even with an accurate diagnosis, how little conventional medicine has to offer.
We have created Healthy Me as a result of our personal journeys to better health.
Whilst we aim to provide information for ME/CFS patients, carers and Health Care Professionals, our Creating Health programme is relevant to anyone who wants to improve their health and that of their families.
Our hope is that by sharing this information, you will decide that your health has to come first and to try some of these steps on your personal journey to a healthier, happier future.
